Louisville Waterfront Park would like to welcome the Ironman team, Ironman athletes, and Ironman spectators to our beautiful 85 acre park. We are excited to be the venue for this inspirational athletic event and host over 2,200 athletes from around the globe that are visiting Louisville. On Sunday, October 13, athletes ranging in age from 18-70+, will start the swim portion of the triathlon at Brown-Forman Amphitheater Docks early in the morning and will continue on the course for 12+ hours throughout the day. The routes were chosen to highlight the various areas that fully showcase the unique setting of Louisville. New this year, athletes will complete three laps on the run course which includes a majority of pathways along the river’s edge at Waterfront Park. Therefore, road closures for the Ironman will impact your visit to Waterfront Park. The park is open but expect closures at various intersections. Ideally, walking and/or biking to the park is highly suggested. We appreciate your support and ask that you proceed with caution and allow for additional travel time to your destination. Participants count on you for encouragement on race day, so bring your friends and cheer them on! We look forward to another great event and hope to see you out there!
