On a cold day like today, it’s nice to think back on a wonderful warm summer week at Waterfront Park. In late July 2018, we were pleased to partner with Louisville Visual Art on the first LVA Waterfront Adventures Camp. This week-long camp allowed young artists to meet at Waterfront Park each morning to create river- and waterfront-themed artwork. Each afternoon, campers ventured out to explore various waterfront sites, including late Louisville folk artist Marvin Finn’s Flock of Finns and the Lincoln Memorial, featuring sculpture and bas reliefs by Louisville’s nationally renowned sculptor Ed Hamilton. Campers also enjoyed a cruise on the historic Belle of Louisville. We are hoping to partner again with LVA this summer and for many summers to come.
