Louisville Waterfront Park is one of five finalists for the Rudy Bruner Award, which searches for "places that are developed with such vision and imagination that they transform urban problems into creative solutions." The award is given every two years by the Rudy Bruner Foundation. Four of the finalists will receive the Silver Medal, an award of $10,000, and the fifth will receive the Gold Medal, $50,000. The Gold Medal winner will be announced in May 2013.
The Rudy Bruner folks recently came to Louisville for 3 days for a site visit to Waterfront Park. This article is the result of that visit.

THE BIG FOUR IS OPEN!!!!
(Yes, Really.)
News and Events
February 5, 2013
On Thursday, February 7, 2013, the Big Four Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge officially opened. This was a soft opening - the Jeffersonville ramp is not completed, so once you get to the other side, you will just turn around and come back. Great exercise, though, and the views are magnificent! The bridge is open 24/7, except for events that require it to be closed (like Thunder Over Louisville). The hours of operation in the rest of the park remain the same, 6am - 11pm daily.

News and Events
December 19, 2012
We were pleased to hear that the Future Farmers of America convention will be returning to Louisville in 2013, 2014 and 2015! Waterfront Park buzzes with future farmers during the convention, and we love the activity.
Future Farmers, be sure to check out the Belle of Louisville while you're in town - she is the oldest Mississippi-style steamboat in the world, and she's still cruisin' strong! For tickets and information about the Belle, visit her website at www.BelleOfLouisville.org.
